Today has been a good day. We did our devotion with breakfast this morning and talked about memorizing the first chapter of James. My two older girls and I will work on memorizing the first chapter and my youngest girl the first 4 verses. I don't know how long this will take but it is a worthwhile task. We cleaned the house- dusted, cleaned glass, straightened, vacuumed, organized and just basically got the house spiffed up. I have the pancake batter soaking and waiting to be made for dinner. I am using Stephanie's recipe from her blog at http://musings-of-a-mountain-mama.blogspot.com/index.html
The kids did all of their school for the day and worked on the basement some. My mom and sister and are coming up from Texas in a few weeks and we want the basement to be clean for them. I did my Bible reading for the day and have worked on getting ready for Sunday.
Fridays I like to get as much stuff done for the weekends as possible. All of our church clothes are picked out, library books and movies are set and ready to go back to the library, I am working on meals for the weekend. We are having dinner and a movie at church on Sunday and we need to bring a few things. All of these things need to be done or at least planned by today so that the weekends are harried and stressful. The more I can get done today, the better and more enjoyable our weekends will be. My dh has been spending many weekends working on building the church and hasn't had much time to be with us. He does the best he can and works so hard. Sometimes I struggle with being understanding when it comes to his time but I am working on it. Besides the Bible, one of the best books I have found for me as a wife is Created to Be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl. This book has helped me see my attitude for what it is. One of my goals is to help my dh as much as possible including during the weekends and complaining isn't a way to help. So, we do as much as we can on Fridays so that whatever he can do with us, we are ready.
I hope your Friday has been as great as mine has.
