I thought it was about time for me to get a blog. I enjoy reading other's blogs so much that I have been wanting to have my own for a while. Well, here I am, finally starting one. My wonderful dh and I have been married for 13 years. I am thankful that the Lord blessed me with such a wonderful man. I fought and struggled for years and have really been working on my place in our marriage and that God has a plan for me in it. Things are working out much nicer since I finally started trying things His way. I am also a homeschooling mother of 5. Our 5 children are a joy and all so different. Right now their ages are 12, 10, 8, 6 and 4. My days are neither quiet nor boring, but that is okay. One day they might be both and I am not looking forward to either. I am using Prairie Primer for the girls this year and FIAR for the boys. The girls are our firs three children and the boys the last two. So, this plan works out nicely.
We are experiencing our first white winter this year and it has been fabulous. Tomorrow we will make molasses snow candy, something that was almost impossible to make in Texas. We all miss Texas so much but we know that we are doing what God wants us to and rest in that.
We are embarking on a healthier way of eating right now too. My dh was recently diagnosed with some health issues and has finally realized that I might have been speaking some truth years ago. So, to take care of him and my children, we are going to change how all of us eat. Our bodies are a temple and should be taken care of as such. Now, I don't say all of this to say that we are perfect eaters and take care of our temples all of the time, but we are starting to take better care of them. One of the biggest things we have done over the past month is give up all cokes, to you Non-Texans, that is all soda or pop, not Coca cola. We are just trying to do better with taking care of ourselves and set good examples with the children at the same time.
This is my first post on here, I hope there will be more to follow.
