I am thinking of doing this every week, but don't hold me to it. :-) After lunch today and straightening up the house, I worked in the kitchen. Instead of just laying around for a few hours, I was busy in the kitchen. I made granola, a double muffin recipe, some snacks and my kombucha. I also got ready for tomorrow by picking out clothes for me and the boys and started packing dh's lunch. All I need to add for his lunch are his sandwiches. I have at least 3 breakfasts made for the week and some snacks done. DH had to go out for a few hours today and help pick up some chairs for church today so I thought I would use that time productively. It didn't take that much time to do the kitchen work and will help with kitchen time during the week. So, I hope to make room on most Sundays to do an hour or two of cooking for the week. I also got brown rice and beans soaking for dinner tomorrow and the chicken thawing in the fridge. I didn't make it Wal*Mart yesterday so there will be some menu changes until I can get there but I will be able to make it work. I did get to Aldi and got as much from there as I could but they don't carry everything that we use like whole wheat flour and brown rice.
I hope you had a good weekend. Also, if in your family Sunday is set aside as a day of rest, then maybe Saturday would be a better day for kitchen prep than Sunday. Do what works best for your family but see if this might work for you. Even if I did this every other week, I am sure that it would help. Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Hi,
OK, what is kombucha and will you teach me how to make granola?
Thanks.

~Hi~
I don't really know where to start with Kombucha and what it is.
Kombucha is a drink, it is sort of like apple cider with a "kick". There are many, many claims about kombucha and what it has done for people. When I started taking kombucha, I didn't have a lot of problems so I can't say if the claims are all they are made out to be. I do feel like it has its' benefits. I will continue to keep making it and drinking it as long as I can. My dh doesn't care for the taste and I try to get him to drink it since he does have health issues. If I could get him to drink it every day for a couple of months I would like to see if there are any improvements with his health. Here are a couple of links that will give you some information, also, if you check out youtube.com you can watch a few different people make it.

I hope I have given you enough information to get you started on kombucha. If you have any more questions, I will see if I can answer them.
I will post the granola recipe on a separate blog post.
I hope I have helped.
Isn't it wonderful when you can do all those things at one time and then it pays off for several days? I made a huge (literally, ridiculous) bowl of (low glycemic index) pasta salad yesterday. I was hopeful that it would be lunch for a good part of the week, but it's almost gone already.
